
In fiscal year 2025, health insurance coverage expanded to 580 million lives, an increase from 573 million in FY24, despite a slight decline in the number of policies sold to 26.5 million. Premiums collected grew by 9.12% to Rs 1.17 trillion. Insurers settled 32.6 million claims, paying out Rs 94,248 crore. Government schemes covered 42.3% of lives, group business 47.4%, and individual policies 10.3%. The group segment led in premium collection at 52.3%.
