Mumbai International Airport has commissioned a new parallel taxiway, Taxiway M, aimed at enhancing flight departure capacity and operational resilience. The upgrade allows for more efficient departure sequencing, quicker take-offs, and provides an alternate route during disruptions. This development is expected to improve on-time performance and reduce taxi times at one of the world's busiest single-runway airports, which handles over 950 aircraft movements daily. The new taxiway also contributes to reduced fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
