
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that Tata Steel's new Rs 3,200-crore manufacturing plant in Ludhiana will begin operations in March. The 0.75 MTPA electric arc furnace-based facility, spread over 115 acres near HiTech Valley, will use 100% steel scrap and aims to reduce carbon emissions. Expected to create around 2,500 jobs, it is Tata Steel's largest investment in Punjab and second-largest plant in India. The state government highlighted its support and industry-friendly policies facilitating the project.
