South Western Railway (SWR) has achieved record-breaking freight earnings and loading figures for December 2025, loading 5.073 million tonnes, a 25.4% increase from the previous year. This marks the highest-ever monthly freight loading in SWR's history. Significant growth was observed in iron ore, coal, steel, and mineral oil. Cumulatively, from April to December 2025-26, SWR loaded 38.36 MT of freight, also a record for this period, with iron ore, steel, and coal being major contributors.
