Since its May 2017 inception, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has recovered 268.87 crore in homebuyer compensation, with Mumbai Suburban leading collections. Recovery orders totaling 792 crore were issued to 1,291 complainants. However, approximately 103 crore in recoveries are stalled due to National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) restrictions. MahaRERA adjudicates complaints and issues orders, with district collectors enforcing them.
