World Bank Approves $680 Million Loans for Assam Climate, Education, and Governance Projects

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors has approved USD 680 million in loans for three projects in Assam aimed at enhancing climate resilience, education, and governance. The Assam Disaster Resilient Hill Roads Development Project will receive USD 350 million to build climate-resilient roads in hilly and tribal areas, improving connectivity for about 190,000 people. A USD 250 million School Education and Adolescent Wellbeing Project targets over 4 million students and youth with improved learning and skills training. An USD 80 million Governance and Service Delivery Program aims to strengthen public financial management and administrative services.
