Ministry Defines Catastrophic Highway Failures Impacting Contractor Ratings and Contracts

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced new rules defining catastrophic failures in highway projects, including bridge collapses, severe pavement damage, and tunnel collapses causing significant harm or service disruption. Such failures, excluding those caused by natural disasters, will result in a 30-mark deduction in contractor ratings, affecting future contract eligibility.
