India and the European Union concluded negotiations on their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in January 2026 after nearly two decades of talks. The final legal text is expected to be ready by July, followed by signing and ratification. The agreement aims to provide duty-free access for over 93% of Indian exports to the EU and reduce tariffs on European imports, including luxury cars and wines. Both sides target operationalizing the FTA by the end of 2026.
