The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended its Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees (SPREE 2025) by one month, now concluding on January 31, 2026. This scheme allows unregistered employers and employees to join the ESI framework without inspections or demands for past dues. The extension, granted due to representations from stakeholders, aims to increase social security coverage under the ESI Act. Failure to register by the new deadline will result in liability for past contributions, damages, interest, and penalties.
