Maersk to Resume Suez Canal Route Amid Improved Regional Stability

Maersk announced it will resume using the Red Sea and Suez Canal route starting January 26 for its weekly service connecting the Middle East, India, and the U.S. east coast, following improved regional stability and a ceasefire in Gaza. This marks a gradual return to the shorter Asia-Europe trade corridor after two years of rerouting around Africa due to Houthi attacks. Other shipping companies like Hapag-Lloyd and Norwegian car shippers remain cautious, assessing security before resuming Suez transits.
