Delhi Liquor Sales Rise 6% in 2024-25; Excise Revenue Increases 11%

Liquor sales in Delhi increased by six percent in the 2024-25 financial year compared to the previous year, with excise revenue rising 11 percent to Rs 8,254.76 crore. Indian beer sales declined by around 12 percent over three years, affected by the 2021-22 excise policy withdrawal amid irregularity allegations. Retail liquor vends rose from 673 to 714, while licensed hotels and clubs decreased. The Delhi government is preparing a new excise policy expected by 2026-27.
