The Union Ministry of MSME has approved the establishment of a Technology Extension Centre (TEC) in Jalandhar, Punjab, to boost the region's sports industry. The center, to be located at the Government Institute of Leather and Footwear Technology, will offer services like advanced product development, technology transfer, and skill enhancement for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in sports goods manufacturing. This initiative aims to enhance competitiveness, improve quality, and boost exports for the sector.
