MAHAGENCO-NTPC Consortium Completes Acquisition of Sinnar Thermal Power Plant

The consortium of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) and NTPC has completed the acquisition of Sinnar Thermal Power Ltd (STPL), which was under Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) as per the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016. STPL operates a 1,350 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Sinnar, Nashik, Maharashtra. Following this acquisition, NTPC group's total installed capacity is 88,132 MW, with a commercial capacity of 87,052 MW. The transaction value was not disclosed.
