EPFO to Enable Provident Fund Withdrawals via UPI with Rs 25,000 Initial Cap from April

Starting April, over 8 crore EPFO members can withdraw provident fund money via UPI through the BHIM app. The system, developed by EPFO, C-DAC, NPCI, and coordinated with SBI, will display eligible and mandatory minimum balances separately. Initial withdrawals are expected to be capped at Rs 25,000 per transaction, with existing UPI transaction limits and withdrawal frequency rules applying. This facility aims to simplify access, especially for blue-collar workers facing challenges with the current online portal.
