India Expands Global Trade Access Through Nine Free Trade Agreements, Says Minister

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted India's expanding global trade partnerships amid international uncertainty, noting the country now has preferential access to nearly two-thirds of global trade through nine free trade agreements (FTAs) concluded under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These FTAs, primarily with developed economies, aim to complement India's growth and diversify trade. Goyal emphasized ongoing negotiations with blocs like the Gulf Cooperation Council, Israel, Chile, and Canada, reflecting India's strategic approach to building trade, trust, and transformation.
