
Exporters are facing significant challenges that are hurting India's goods exports, including higher raw material costs compared to global prices, insufficient testing facilities for quality assurance, and a shortage of shipping containers. These issues were raised at a Board of Trade meeting chaired by the Union Commerce and Industry Minister. The problems are exacerbated by steep US tariffs, leading to order cancellations and potential shifts to competitor nations. While some export sectors are growing, labor-intensive goods are at risk of losing market share.
