Finance Minister Meets AIIB President to Discuss Scaling Up Investments and Collaboration

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Zou Jiayi in New Delhi to discuss strengthening the India-AIIB partnership. Representing the second-largest shareholder, India, Sitharaman urged scaling up investments in AIIB member countries, especially low-income nations, using innovative financing methods. They emphasized collaboration on infrastructure projects in India, including expedited approvals in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, and proposed establishing a regional AIIB office in India to support expanding operations.
