Wheat Sowing Reaches Record 33.41 Million Hectares in 2025-26 Rabi Season

Wheat sowing in India reached a record 33.41 million hectares in the 2025-26 rabi season, increasing by 0.61 million hectares from the previous year, according to agriculture ministry data. Sowing of wheat and other rabi crops is complete, with harvesting expected from March. Areas under pulses, coarse cereals, and oilseeds also rose marginally, contributing to a total rabi crop sowing of 65.23 million hectares, up 3.31% from last year.
