India and the European Union have agreed on a free trade agreement (FTA) that includes a five-year Most Favoured Nation (MFN) treatment, ensuring non-discriminatory market access in listed sectors and services. The provisional FTA text, released by India's Department of Commerce, outlines 20 chapters covering goods, services, digital trade, and dispute settlement. The agreement also features public interest safeguards limiting anti-dumping duties to cases benefiting domestic stakeholders. Continuation of MFN treatment beyond five years will depend on mutual review and progress on related issues.
