The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has urged the Indian government to mandate green hydrogen blending in key sectors such as refining, fertilisers, and natural gas. To address the cost gap between green and grey hydrogen, CII recommends incentives like carbon credits, cross-subsidies, and viability gap funding. It also suggests promoting public procurement of green hydrogen products to boost demand. This proposal follows India's record growth in non-fossil fuel capacity in 2025, aiming to accelerate clean energy adoption through green hydrogen technologies.
