India's Semiconductor Sector Sees Rising Demand for Specialized Engineering Talent

India's semiconductor industry is experiencing a surge in hiring as companies like Micron, AMD, Applied Materials, and L&T Semiconductor seek specialized talent in chip design, verification, physical design, AI accelerators, and embedded software. Demand for system-level engineering skills, integrating silicon, software, and applications, significantly exceeds supply. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a Rs 1,000 crore allocation for the second phase of the India Semiconductor Mission under the FY27 budget to enhance capabilities amid growing industry complexity.
