EPFO to Enable Partial Provident Fund Withdrawals via UPI by April 2026

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) plans to enable partial EPF withdrawals via Unified Payments Interface (UPI) by April 2026, aiming to simplify and expedite access for around eight crore members. This system will allow transfers directly to linked bank accounts using UPI PINs, eliminating the need for formal withdrawal claims. The labour ministry is addressing software issues to ensure secure, seamless transactions, while recent reforms also ease partial withdrawal rules and increase auto-settlement limits.
