India Marks 10 Years of Startup India Initiative with Over 200,000 Recognised Startups

Marking a decade since its 2016 launch, the Startup India initiative has transformed the country into the world's third-largest startup ecosystem with over 200,000 DPIIT-recognised startups and 2.1 million jobs created. The government highlights policy reforms, funding schemes like the Fund of Funds and Seed Fund, and corporate engagement as key drivers. Startups now contribute across sectors including defence, deep tech, and regional innovation, supporting India's vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. Prime Minister Modi will commemorate National Startup Day by engaging with ecosystem members and unveiling the next phase of the initiative.
