U.S. regulators have granted Tesla a five-week extension until February 23 to respond to an investigation into whether its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system violated traffic laws. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened the probe in October after receiving 62 complaints and identifying reports of incidents involving FSD, including running red lights and driving on the wrong side. Tesla has cited the volume of records and multiple ongoing investigations as reasons for needing more time. Tesla maintains that drivers must remain attentive and ready to intervene while using FSD.
