
According to the latest Commitment of Traders data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission through January 13, 2025, large speculators reduced their net long positions in Euro futures by 30,156 contracts from a two-and-a-half-year high, totaling 132,656 contracts. Meanwhile, speculative net short positions in US dollar index futures remained near a six-month low at -3,730 contracts, decreasing slightly by 101 contracts compared to the previous week. Both figures reflect trading activity by large speculators and hedge funds following a brief US government shutdown.
