India has requested weekly data on Russian and U.S. oil imports from refiners, according to sources. This move comes as India seeks to finalize a trade deal with the U.S., which had previously imposed tariffs partly due to India's significant purchases of discounted Russian oil following the Ukraine war. The data is intended to provide verified figures for discussions with Washington and is being collected by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell at the request of Prime Minister Modi's office.
