Andhra Pradesh witnessed a substantial increase in liquor sales in December 2025, reaching approximately ₹2,767 crore, an 8% rise from the previous year. Sales peaked in the final three days of the month, with ₹543 crore sold, significantly up from ₹336 crore in 2024. Officials attribute this surge to New Year festivities, extended holidays, and increased consumer spending. Visakhapatnam district led sales with ₹178.6 crore, while tribal and less urbanized districts reported lower figures.
