An audit report by the Director General of Audit (Central) has identified significant shortcomings in the Chandigarh Industrial Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), leading to financial losses. The report highlights a revenue loss of Rs 53.56 lakh due to vacant shops and establishments at hotels and petrol stations. Several commercial spaces have remained unleased for extended periods, incurring substantial rent losses. The audit also noted a Rs 37.87-lakh loss from an unsuccessful bakery venture.
