The Indian government has approved a 10.32% increase in commission rates for arthiyas and cooperative societies involved in wheat and paddy procurement, effective from the 2026-27 Rabi marketing season. Rates for arthiyas in Punjab and Haryana will rise to Rs 50.75 per quintal for wheat and Rs 50.61 for paddy, with similar hikes in Rajasthan. The revision, based on recommendations from a sub-committee including FCI and state representatives, aims to maintain procurement efficiency and support intermediaries in the supply chain.
