Unauthorized Transactions on Yes Bank-BookMyForex Forex Cards Affect Thousands, Bank Denies Data Breach

BookMyForex, partnered with Yes Bank, faced a surge of unauthorized transactions on its multi-currency prepaid forex cards on February 24, 2026, affecting around 5,000 customers with approved fraudulent transactions totaling approximately Rs 2.5 crore. While some users reported difficulties accessing the platform to lock cards, BookMyForex denied any data breach, attributing the issue to false transaction attempts detected and blocked by Yes Bank. The bank traced the fraud to merchants in a Latin American country lacking two-factor authentication and is pursuing chargebacks to protect customers.
