Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been awarded a contract by East Coast Railway to establish a wagon periodical overhaul workshop at Kantabanji. The project, valued at approximately Rs 201.23 crore excluding GST, is set to be completed within 18 months. RVNL was the sole bidder for this undertaking. This follows a recent Rs 145.35 crore traction power project awarded to RVNL by Southern Railway, aimed at supporting Indian Railways' freight-loading targets.
