Louis Gerstner, former CEO and chairman of IBM, has died at the age of 83. Gerstner, who joined IBM in 1993 from RJR Nabisco, is widely credited with orchestrating a historic turnaround for the computer giant. He led the company for nine years, pivoting it towards business services, radically changing its culture, and significantly increasing its stock value before retiring as CEO in 2002.
