Power Ministry Forms Selection Committee to Find New NTPC Chairman and Managing Director

The power ministry has decided to form a search-cum-selection committee to appoint the next Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC after the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) failed to find a suitable candidate. The current CMD, Gurdeep Singh, whose term was extended to August 1, 2026, will retire then. Candidates can apply until March 28, 2026. Since 2021, PESB has similarly struggled to fill top posts in other public sector enterprises.
