
India has become the world's leading smartphone manufacturing hub, with exports reaching USD 30 billion in 2025, according to Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The country produced smartphones worth around USD 60 billion in 2025, with exports valued at approximately USD 22 billion in 2024-25. Major companies like Apple and Samsung are key drivers, especially in premium markets such as the US. Electronics exports overall have crossed USD 44 billion, expected to grow further as new semiconductor plants begin production.
