The Bombay High Court partly allowed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) petition challenging an arbitration award favoring Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) related to the Versova-Ghatkopar Metro-1 project. The tribunal had awarded MMOPL, a joint venture with Reliance Infrastructure holding 74%, over Rs 496 crore to Rs 1,100 crore for delays and cost escalations. The court upheld some tribunal findings but set aside portions of the award, emphasizing limited interference in arbitration and contractual interpretation.
