Electronics Manufacturing Leads PLI Scheme with 146% Production Growth by FY25

Electronics manufacturing, particularly mobile phones, has led growth under India's Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with production rising 146% from Rs 2.13 lakh crore in FY21 to Rs 5.45 lakh crore by FY25, supported by USD 4 billion in FDI. The scheme's total budget is Rs 1.97 lakh crore across 14 sectors, but cumulative disbursements reached only Rs 23,946 crore by September 2025. Disbursements have accelerated recently, with Rs 10,112 crore paid in FY25 and further increases expected in FY26, alongside cumulative investments of about Rs 2 lakh crore.
