NITI Aayog's Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2024 ranks Maharashtra as the top large state in export readiness, followed by Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. Uttar Pradesh notably secured fourth place overall and first among landlocked states, reflecting significant reforms under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The index assesses states and Union Territories across export infrastructure, business ecosystem, policy and governance, and export performance. Smaller states like Uttarakhand and Nagaland also showed strong export potential, while some northeastern states face infrastructure challenges. The EPI aims to guide targeted policy interventions to boost India's export competitiveness.
