Visakhapatnam district generated ₹1,940.37 crore in revenue from liquor sales in 2025, marking a 1.74% increase from the previous year. Sales saw a rise in both Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer cases. The district has 159 wine shops and various other licensed establishments. Daily liquor sales average around ₹6 crore, with 45% of transactions being digital. The department also registered 442 cases against unauthorized liquor outlets, leading to arrests and seizures, with a 63% reduction in belt shop cases compared to 2024.
