
Sales of Chinese smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme declined in India for the first time in the last fiscal year, driven by reduced demand in the entry- to mid-level segments as consumers shift towards premium devices. This led to a 4.5% revenue drop for the nine largest Chinese electronics firms in India, after a previous 42% growth. Despite this, Chinese brands maintain a dominant market share by volume. Rising component costs have also contributed to higher smartphone prices.
