
In Tamil Nadu, 12,153 individuals disclosed a total of Rs. 154 crores under a voluntary disclosure scheme, comprising Rs. 48 crores in income and Rs. 106 crores in wealth. Jewellery constituted the largest portion of wealth disclosures. The scheme, operational since October 8, 1975, saw a gradual increase in declarations, with significant filings occurring towards the end of the period. Income disclosures ranged from Rs. 600 to Rs. 2 crores.
