
Bharat Taxi, a government-backed ride-hailing app led by the Ministry of Cooperation, is set to launch nationwide on January 1, 2026. Positioned as an alternative to private platforms like Ola and Uber, it aims to free drivers from high commissions by charging none and offering benefits like profit sharing. The app, owned by drivers through Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, has already registered over 51,000 drivers and offers services for two-wheelers, rickshaws, taxis, and four-wheelers.
