
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved reforms to ease compliance for food businesses, including perpetual validity for FSSAI registration certificates and licences, eliminating the need for renewals. The turnover threshold for registration has increased from Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 1.5 crore. Additionally, street food vendors registered with municipal corporations or town vending committees will be deemed registered under FSSAI, benefiting over ten lakh vendors and reducing regulatory burdens while promoting food safety.
