
Japanese companies are increasing their presence and investment in India's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market, according to Sourav Mallik of Kotak Investment Banking. He notes that while Japanese investors are active, domestic Indian companies are also driving significant M&A activity, with deal volumes expected to surpass 2025 in 2026. Mallik highlighted several recent large domestic M&A deals and Kotak Mahindra Group's strong performance in investment banking fees.
