Eastern Railway is considering extending four platforms at Howrah station to accommodate longer trains and reduce congestion. Platforms 10, 11, 12, and 13 are slated for extensions ranging from 89.3 to 112 meters. This initiative aims to increase train capacity and operational flexibility, building on recent expansions of platforms 14 and 15, which now allow for longer mail express trains. The project is part of broader plans to expand coaching terminals and meet rising passenger demand.
