India to Undergo 8th WTO Trade Policy Review in July 2026, Highlights Digital Customs Reforms

India's 8th Trade Policy Review at the World Trade Organization (WTO) is scheduled for July 2026, involving a comprehensive peer review of its national trade policies. Ahead of this, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) showcased India's digital Customs reforms and full compliance with WTO's Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA). India highlighted its 'whole-of-government approach' and initiatives like faceless, contactless Customs, moving towards enhanced 'TFA Plus' measures under the National Trade Facilitation Action Plan 3.0. Special sessions in Geneva attracted delegates from around 40 countries, reflecting global interest in India's trade facilitation efforts.
