
India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train will begin its inaugural run on January 17, connecting Howrah (Kolkata) and Guwahati (Kamakhya) over approximately 958 km in about 14 hours. Developed using ICF technology by BEML, the all-AC train offers 1AC, 2AC, and 3AC sleeper classes and will operate six days a week. The service aims to enhance overnight travel with modern amenities, including advanced safety and hygiene features. Ticket bookings will open soon, with confirmed reservations required. Platform changes at Malda Town station have been made to facilitate the launch.
