Following a gas tanker accident on February 3 near Khopoli, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway experienced a 32- to 33-hour traffic jam affecting over 1 lakh motorists. Despite orders to suspend toll collection during the disruption, some FASTag toll deductions continued. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced a refund of Rs 5.16 crore, which will be credited directly to the FASTag accounts of affected commuters. Authorities have sought detailed transaction data from the toll operator and initiated an inquiry into the incident and emergency response.
