IndiGo has been ordered to pay over 458 crore in Goods and Services Tax (GST) penalties by the CGST-Delhi South Commissionerate for the fiscal years 2018-19 to 2022-23. The penalty relates to compensation received from foreign suppliers and denial of input tax credit. IndiGo stated it believes the order is erroneous and plans to contest it through legal remedies, asserting it will not significantly impact financials or operations. A separate penalty of over 14 lakh was also imposed by the Lucknow office.
