Delhi's RERA has ordered a builder to pay over ₹82 lakh to two homebuyers and over ₹55 lakh to another two for delayed possession of commercial shops in the Central Square Complex. The builder marketed the Bara Hindu Rao property as a commercial development, but the land was never converted from its original 'flatted factories' designation. Possession was due in October 2009, and the delay, now nearly two decades, was deemed a gross breach of contractual and statutory obligations causing significant hardship.
