The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has assured highway developers of sufficient fuel, bitumen, and essential input supplies despite tensions in the Middle East. Developers, represented by the National Highways Builders Federation, raised concerns about rising costs, including a Rs 2,000 per tonne increase in bitumen prices and potential diesel and cement price hikes. They requested more frequent cost reviews and sought recognition of the situation as a Force Majeure event, though international conflicts are not covered under current agreements. NHAI is monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with Indian Oil Corporation to mitigate supply disruptions.
